The hardest thing(s) to change are the things that I am not even aware of, the unconscious patterns of addiction and attachment that hurt me and hurt others. That is why we all need spiritual teachers, mentors, coaches who truly see us and lovingly guide us through the change our souls want and need. Then, there is still the courageous and hard work ahead to make the changes, but it is much easier when we know we are held in love and acceptance whether we are successful or not.

One could wear earplugs for a day and find out. Or tape the eyes shut for a day to feel what it would be like to be blind (yesterday's QaR). Or do BOTH! ..for an excellent film that portrays what it would be like to be deaf AND blind see the award-winning Bollywood film 'Black'. It is based partly on the life of Helen Keller and it is very moving. It has many dimensions, and is a particularly good portrayal of what is possible with a loving teacher, even when the methods seem tough or harsh. Highly reccommended.

The loving being who made and supports me, because I can feel how the gratitude I want to express is governed by the depth of that relationship.

Freedom to choose. Freedom from attachments and addictions. Freedom from the darkness and negation of wordly thinking. Freedom to pursue my own path. Freedom from having to conform. Freedom from anxiety and worry. Freedom from the fear of death...............all of these freedoms come from being a soul swimming in the source of life, light, and love.

I am getting really excited about the upcoming Peace Ride which will take place out of Durango this August. It will be an amazing tour along one of the 10 most scenic routes in the country! It's a 4-day, 238-mile tour along the entire San Juan Skyway loop. Think sweeping vistas, epic climbs topping 10,000 feet (okay, this part is a little scary for a flatlander like me, that's why we asked Olympic rider and coach, Colby Pearce, to design the training schedule for us!), and sweet stretches of downhill (translation: cycling heaven). Highest Self = God Self. So the message is the same as spoken by all the great teachers, prophets, avatars, and saviors - God is Real, God is Love, and You are Forgiven if you can simply accept it. If you let that message sink in and break your heart open, then you can spread it with humility and sincerity, shining the light of Truth and giving loving warmth in a cold world. To do this, you must know this Truth from experience, not just believe it.

So the message my soul has for the world is nothing new. For most of us, the message our soul has for us is what really matters, because we have some cleaning up and growing to do before we can spread God's pure light and unconditional love. The degree to which Love can move through us is the degree to which we've hollowed ourselves out and let go of our worldly attachments. One can spend decades doing that on our own, or find an enlightened teacher who can lovingly point out where we are still stuck and attached to negativity. A real teacher really speeds up the process. So, how bright do you want to shine? How much do you want to prosper? And how soon do you want to do it?

The alphabet.....To get any more worked up about it would be prideful and indicate an over-attachment to human heredity. We are children of God - Souls - we've had many, many lives and hence many sets of parents and many names. WHO and HOW we are matters, not WHAT we're called.

Loving, Teaching, Healing, Laughing, Learning - I will never regret the many ways I let life, light, and love move through me. I will never regret choosing partners, friends, teachers, work, colleagues and communities that  supported and stretched me in this lifetime.

SACRIFICE....I know this word has heavy and negative meaning for most, but done with the right heart sacrifices are gifts we give to others. Pure love is sacrificing for the other......
